Getting Started with Computers and the Internet

 

Outline: Learn in a relaxed atmosphere - this course is for people starting out on computers.  Assuming no prior knowledge, the trainer guides delegates through the basics of using a personal computer.

 

Who should attend? Anyone new to using personal computers

 

Course Objectives: Learn what the jargon means and how to use it if you are buying a PC.  You will get a complete understanding of starting and stopping programs, creating and storing files and more importantly, finding them afterwards.  Find out about the 'other' mouse button.  You will also learn how to use the Internet to 'Surf' in a fun, easygoing way.

Getting To Grips with Windows, Microsoft Office and E-Mail

 

Outline:  This course is ideal for people looking to gain an understanding about how Microsoft Windows works.  You will learn how to utilise the Windows desktop effectively and add shortcuts for frequent tasks.  Discover the hidden secrets of the mouse using left click, right click, double click and click and drag.  Create a personalised filing system for sorting all your work and discover how to find 'lost' files.  Learn how to create a letter in Word and a spreadsheet in Excel.  Find out how to send and receive emails including attaching files.

Making Presentations with Microsoft PowerPoint

 

Outline:  Good presentation skills have always been important in organisations.  Effective uses of the latest computer technology make your presentations dynamic and up to date.  Microsoft PowerPoint is an excellent package capable of producing high quality presentations suitable for clients and colleagues.  This course covers both how to create a PowerPoint presentation and how to deliver it effectively.
