We offer year-round training targeted at the needs of the voluntary and community sectors. Topics include: Fundraising from the Corporate Sector, Developing Fundraising Strategies, Staff Management, Time Management, ICT training, Creating Effective Partnerships, Outcomes training, Health and Safety, Management Committee Training, Volunteers and the Law, Motivating and Retaining Volunteers, Writing a Volunteer Policy, Recruiting Volunteers and many more.  To view training schedule click here

 

Representation services

We provide representation on numerous committees and forums including: Connexions, Childrens Fund, Sure Start, Hackney Strategic Partnership sub-committees, Voluntary Sector Premises working group and Summer Programme working group. We will be working towards developing the local voluntary sector compact in partnership with the voluntary/community sectors and the London Borough of Hackney.  Please see HVA objectives

 

Partnership

We work in partnership with the voluntary/community sectors and statutory and private partners to involve the sector as an active and full partner in national, London-wide, borough-wide and neighbourhood initiatives. Please see HVA objectives

 

Practical Support Services

We provide equipment for hire; office equipment for use in our Resource Centre; a library of over 300 books, journals, videos and CDs; computer and Internet facilities; photocopying; laser printing (b/w and colour); laminating; scanning; minicom; faxing; binding; voluntary sector mailings; and adverts and inserts in our bi-monthly newsletter.  Click here for more info
