Volunteer Recruitment and Referral Services

We maintain a borough-wide database of volunteer vacancies and provide this information to and refer more than 800 people per year who are interested in volunteering. We work in partnership with national volunteering initiatives (Time Bank, Do-its National Volunteering Database) to promote local volunteering opportunities to as many people as possible. We also list vacancies directly in national and local publications, websites and in Urgent Opportunities bulletins distributed across the borough. Special projects include Hackneys Millennium Volunteers project which places and supports youth volunteering (16-24 yrs) over a sustained period of 200 hours. Volunteer Development and Support

We provide information and support on setting-up new volunteer programmes, provide good practice information on the involvement of volunteers and answer your questions about volunteering issues.
