THE
LONDON CHANGEUP ICT PROGRAMME
In 2005, London Advice Services Alliance (LASA), in partnership with the East London CVS Network (ELN), worked on a one-year project to improve the support for voluntary and community organisations in their use of ICT (Information and Communication Technology). The project was funded to run until Spring 2006 as part of the government’s Changeup initiative to improve voluntary sector infrastructure.
The London ICT Project was set up as a regional changeup project to develop a model of ICT support for frontline voluntary and community groups. Services will include: information and signposting services, training & advice, and some technical assistance. Support forums (both face-2-face and online) will also be set up for those responsible for ICT within their group to support each other and share best practice.
Under the changeup, London is divided into 5 subregions. The East London Subregion is made up of the London Boroughs of Barking & Dagenham, Bexley, Greenwich, Hackney, Havering, Lewisham, Newham, Redbridge, Tower Hamlets and the City and the CVSs in these boroughs together make up the East London CVS Network.
