HVA run fundraising courses to help improve the fundraising skills of staff and volunteers in community and voluntary groups in Hackney. HOW TO COMPLETE A FUNDING APPLICATION
This course is a half day guide to completing and submitting a funding application. It will include general considerations to keep in mind regarding budgets, supporting information and answering the questions. HVA’s Grants Officer will be presenting the course.
CREATING EFFECTIVE PARTNERSHIPS
This is a one day course for Managers in the voluntary and public sector that are developing partnerships or promoting partnership working. This is particularly useful as part of a fundraising strategy and will help to think through the process and prepare a plan of action.
The content of the course will cover:
- Principals – purpose, adding value and identifying win/win opportunities
- People & resources - networking, negotiating roles, playing to individual strengths
- Good practice – supporting partners, project management and resolving conflict
- Developing partnership – supporting stakeholders, using health check and other templates
Follow-up support can be provided to facilitate the development process and advise on the development of your individual partnership.
DEVELOPING A FUNDRAISING STRATEGY
This course is for Managers and others with fundraising responsibilities. The course will help you prepare your Funding Strategy as part of a Business Plan. Content will include templates, tables and check lists to help with their own analysis and action planning:
- Structuring your Funding Strategy
- Analysing your past performance and profiling funds secured
- Recognise your unique selling points and communicate your strengths
- Map your geographic focus, profile beneficiaries and services against funders criteria
- Packaging projects and covering core costs
- Managing relationships with funders and making your PR count
We recommend that members and non-members take advantage of this opportunity to improve their effectiveness and networking abilities within the voluntary sector, to learn of the available resources and to understand the methods and skills of effective fundraising.
